First half felt like the Thunder were evolving. Ball was moving better than ever before. Fisher was huge in that. Durant was the key, though. Incredible half from him. Was frustrated by a physical Spurs defense off the ball in the first half, responded by making everyone around him better. Best I’ve seen him play in a while even though he wasn’t scoring.
Ibaka playing a heck of a game. Six-of-six from the field and his defense has been strong all-around. Thunder have a nine point lead. Again, last few minutes here are huge. Can’t let the Spurs get it back within five if you are OKC.
Thunder moving the ball very well right now. Derek Fisher is doing some great things on spot-ups. Not just launching the ball. Driving into the paint and finding cutters. Great spurt from him. Lets see if Durant can get going here. If OKC can close this quarter strong that will be huge. Spurs have a knack for ruining momentum for their opposition at the end of quarters.
Tie game after one. Thunder recovered from an early hole with some great defense to offense action. I’d say that OKC has the edge right now because Durant has yet to get going and they have done some really good work on the pick-and-roll with Collison and Sefolosha. If they can keep up this defensive intensity and get the normal production from their stars, this should be a tie series. But the Spurs aren’t going to let that happen easily.
Thunder come out of the timeout with Perkins feeding the cutter from the baseline, a better mix than Perkins getting the pass on the move. He’s scores the lay-up.
Spurs get an eight point lead but they are hitting some tough shots. Thunder have to come out of this timeout with a better moving offense. Forcing the ball to Durant is costing them a lot of time on the shot clock and he’s not getting much space on the pick-and-roll.
Thunder survived the first three minutes of the game despite getting three shots from Kendrick Perkins. Already evident that they are struggling to get the ball to Kevin Durant. Spurs are bodying him up off the ball.
Welcome, everyone. This game has the makings of a classic. Let’s get it started.
