The role you described is the exact same one he played for the Nuggets and while it's nice in theory and works sometimes during the regular season, those ill-advised shots simply weren't acceptable in the playoffs. The playoffs are all that matters for this Clippers team so I don't think it's worth the risk. Not even Chris Paul can overcome the combined basketball stupidity of Vinny Del Negro, Blake Griffin, DeAndre Jordan, Mo Williams and J.R. Smith. Plus, you can only have so many headcases on your team and Smith, Kenyon Martin, and Reggie Evans is too many for a contender. I don’t think that Smith is a good fit for the Clippers. But I do kind of balk at the Minny thing. If Love and Rubio both develop into All Stars (and Love is pretty much there already) then that gives Kahn the chance to lock them up again later. I know, I know, its hard to believe Kahn is thinking rationally at any given time, but I've liked the moves so far. Nice piece, one can never call out stupid teams enough.
